Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 21, 2026
RockFocus is operated by Jason Wang. This Privacy Policy explains how RockFocus handles information when you use the app.
Information We Handle
RockFocus stores information that you create or generate while using the app, including:
- Focus session records, such as start time, end time, duration, rounded minutes, and selected label.
- Optional thoughts or memos that you write after a focus session.
- Labels that you create or select.
- App preferences, such as haptic settings, week start, selected label, selected app icon, and related settings.
- This information is used to provide focus history, statistics, calendar views, label summaries, memo editing, and app preferences.
Local Storage and iCloud Sync
Your focus data is stored on your device.
When iCloud is available for your Apple Account, RockFocus uses Apple CloudKit to sync focus sessions, memos, and labels through your private iCloud database. We do not operate our own server for this data.
Your use of iCloud is subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
Usage Analytics
To understand how RockFocus is used and improve the app, we use Mixpanel. We send events such as app opens, screen views, focus sessions started, completed, or cancelled, label creation or deletion, paywall views, and purchase-flow outcomes. These events may include limited properties such as session duration, whether a memo was added, label type, app environment, and product or plan type.
The Mixpanel SDK may also process a randomly generated device identifier and limited technical information, such as app and operating-system version, device model, screen size, network status, and approximate location derived from the IP address. Mixpanel states that the IP address is used to derive location and is not stored.
We do not call Mixpanel’s identify function or send your name, email address, Apple Account, memo text, custom label names, or advertising identifier. Analytics events are not connected to your real-world identity and are used only to understand product usage, diagnose issues, and improve RockFocus. Mixpanel processes this information on our behalf, and RockFocus sends analytics to Mixpanel’s EU endpoint.
Purchases and RockFocus Pro
RockFocus offers optional RockFocus Pro purchases through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes payments. We do not receive or store your payment card details or Apple Account credentials.
We use RevenueCat to validate and restore purchases and determine whether RockFocus Pro is active. RevenueCat may process purchase history, transaction and receipt information, an anonymous app user identifier, and limited technical information needed for purchase validation and entitlement management.
No Advertising or Cross-App Tracking
RockFocus does not track you across apps or websites, show ads, use advertising identifiers, or sell or share your information for advertising or marketing.
The Mixpanel integration described above is used only for first-party product analytics, not for advertising, marketing, or linking activity to your identity. Purchase information processed through RevenueCat is used only for app functionality, purchase validation, entitlement management, and subscription reporting.
Email Feedback
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. We use this information only to respond to your feedback or support request.
Service Providers and Disclosure
We rely on Apple for App Store payments, iCloud, and CloudKit; RevenueCat for purchase validation and entitlement management; Mixpanel for product analytics; and your email provider when you contact us.
We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of RockFocus, its users, or others.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete individual focus records and memos in the app. The “Erase All Data” option removes saved focus sessions and memos. It does not currently reset labels or app preferences.
When iCloud is available, deleted focus data may also be removed from your private iCloud database through sync. Deleting the app does not necessarily remove data stored in iCloud; you can manage iCloud data through Apple’s system settings.
Data Retention and Security
Focus data remains on your device and, when available, in your private iCloud database until you delete it. Analytics data is retained in Mixpanel according to our project settings and Mixpanel’s terms, only for as long as reasonably necessary to understand usage and improve RockFocus. Purchase information is retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their policies. Email correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to you.
We use services from Apple, RevenueCat, and Mixpanel to support storage, sync, purchases, and product analytics. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Children’s Privacy
RockFocus is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above.
